Moon in Sagittarius:

People with the Moon in fire signs are referred to by Liz Greene as “children of the gods.” They often find it hard to endure the dullness of life and must be nourished by higher inspirations. Among the Moon-in-fire-sign children, those with the Moon in Sagittarius may find this statement the truest for them.

Ruled by Jupiter, Moon-in-Sagittarius children are endowed with plenty of joy and a strong sense of security. More often that not, they eat and sleep well, and are happy most of the time.

These children may quickly develop a keen interest in the broader world. As children, their access to the world is limited, so they must be nourished by “stories,” be that from books or other means. Their sense of safety comes from the ever-expanding boundaries of their world. Rich imagination allows them to blend reality and fantasy, which can be quite troubling for adults.

Moon-in-Sagittarius children tend to exaggerate their emotional and physical perceptions. If they feel a little sad, they might claim they’re deeply heartbroken—but to them, this feels like an accurate statement. If they’re hungry, they might say they’re starving. As a result, they can come across as “dishonest.” At the same time, because they are naturally optimistic and not prone to depression, they often find it difficult to empathize with others’ suffering.

In conclusion, while these children need the freedom to expand the boundaries of their minds, they should learn to appreciate day-to-day life. If they’re overly indulged in "higher inspirations", Moon-in-Sagittarius children may find difficulty to connect to the earthy world. Conversely, if their spirit is harshly restricted, they may gradually lose their natural optimism and joy.

Moon in Capricorn:

Saturn rules Capricorn, and Saturn is not exactly “sweet.” Children with the Moon in Capricorn often seem mature beyond their years or exhibit a calculating attitude, which can make some adults find them “not very lovable.” This early maturity stems from a sense of obligation. While other children are busy enjoying themselves and wholeheartedly playing their roles as kids, Moon-in-Capricorn children are already focused on the deficiencies in their environment or their parents.

This sense of lack makes them uneasy. They don’t tend to act out or make noise; instead, they seek security in practical ways. If their parents lack social status, the Moon-in-Capricorn child will strive to excel at school. If money is scarce, they’ll start saving their own allowance and avoid asking their parents for anything. However, if what’s missing is emotional support, they may not even realize it.

This doesn’t mean they don’t need emotional nurturing. They simply believe that if they can build a fortress with three-foot-thick walls, filled with supplies, they will be safe.

But in truth, what most deeply wounds Moon-in-Capricorn children is emotional deprivation. At their core is an insecurity rooted in the fear that their world might collapse. Creating rituals around meals and daily life can help soothe this Earth-sign Moon child. I definitely recommend you hug the child despite their initially uncooperative responses to the hug. Again, this maybe something they do not know they need.

When their bodies are able to relax can they begin to recognize and process their emotions. If they grow up without enough physical affection, Moon-in-Capricorn children may experience physical and emotional rigidity in adulthood, or even difficulties related to intimacy and sexuality.

If no one helps guide a Moon-in-Capricorn child to understand that true security doesn’t come from owning a massive fortress or stockpiling resources, they may grow into adults who compulsively hoard, overly identify with financial or social status, but are never truly able to relax.

Moon in Aquarius:

Before the discovery of Uranus in 1781, Saturn was the ruling planet of Aquarius. Influenced by Saturn, children with the Moon in Aquarius tend to be somewhat “dry and cold.” Although friendly, they are not too concerned about others’ feelings. They also tend to not show strong emotions, and may be selective with food. Among a group of noisy children, they are often the ones standing quietly on the sidelines observing.

Uranus symbolizes the pursuit of ideals. The emotional detachment of Moon-in-Aquarius children continues until they are awakened by some kind of “ideal.” Once they begin to identify with a particular value, they show remarkable persistence. The definition of an ideal is something absent from real life, so these children often “break the established rules” with incredible enthusiasm. For example, when told they cannot watch TV, they will launch into long speeches about how unreasonable that is. If the speeches don’t work, they may not hesitate to turn on the TV or even damage it in protest.

These “rebels” inevitably clash with authority figures. Whether at school or home, they won’t let adults enjoy commanding. You can say they are fortunate when they encounter adults who are willing to reason with them. But many times, they may struggle to fit into conventional environments because of this wreak-havoc tendency. Their caregivers should guide them in considering others' perspectives and how to discern where they want to pursue idealism.

When they are allowed to pursue their “ideals” and still be accepted by their environment, that is where they feel the safest. If they are always suppressed or dismissed as “troublemakers,” they may grow into unnecessarily defiant adults who struggle to form harmonious relationships. On the other hand, if they are always indulged with their idealism, they may be overly attached to certain dogma, unable to recognize alternative perspectives or truths.

Moon in Pisces:

Pisces' ruling planets are Jupiter and Neptune. Jupiter provides the emotionally rich foundation for Moon in Pisces, while Neptune fosters a tendency to dissolve boundaries and absorb others' emotions.

Children with the Moon in Pisces tend to be the most compassionate and are also the most easily hurt. They hope to make people around them happy, even if it means feeling a little unhappy themselves.

They are similar to Moon in Cancer in terms of intense empathy. However, while Moon in Cancer is gentle but not to be trampled upon, Moon in Pisces children may have few boundaries, so they can refuse to admit when they are being mistreated. Even if they do admit it, they tend to find reasons for the other's behavior.

The self-sacrificing spirit of Moon Pisces is also similar to the Moon in Virgo. However, Moon in Virgo is driven by a need for order, whereas Moon in Pisces simply has little tolerance for unhappy emotions. For example, even when a Pisces moon child has no desire for more food, if their mother shows signs of distress, they may push themselves to eat more to please the mother.

Therefore, what children with Moon in Pisces need most is to learn to draw boundaries while helping. They should understand how much they can contribute without overstepping their bounds. They should also recognize that the nature of emotions is flowing, so they need not always rush to attend to them.

The greatest danger for these children is emotional manipulation. Phrases like "Do you want to make Mommy sad?" can evoke strong guilt feelings in them, confusing them even more about what is within their repertoire.

If, unfortunately, growing up with emotional blackmail, Moon in Pisces individuals may be skilled at manipulating others. They are also more vulnerable to substances or drugs if unable to channel emotions with structure.
